Founded in Temecula, California, in 1968, by legendary marketer, Ely Callaway, Callaway Winery became the first premium wine producer from Southern California. Using the latest cold-fermentation wine-making technologies, Callaway quickly gained recognition as a producer of high quality white wines at a time when California was just becoming known as a source of world class wine.
Determined to restore the prominence of the Callaway label, Shaw-Ross engaged the Delicato Winery to craft wine in the Callaway “style” pioneered by Ely Callaway 40 years ago.
To meet Callaway’s exacting requirements, CEO Chris Indelicato has assembled a team of highly skilled winemakers to identify and blend the best possible “coastal” wines from Manteca and Monterey counties. Also advising is acclaimed wine consultant Robert Pepi and his partner in the consulting business, winemaker Jeff Booth, who has been contracted by Shaw-Ross to help restore Callaway to the prominence it had enjoyed under Callaway’s stewardship.
