  • Terroir
    Terroir Mostly clay, limestone and gravel soils from various terroirs. The limestone soils of Entre-deux-mers and the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux produce wines of refinement, while the clay soils around Blaye give fuller-bodied wines. The gravelly soils of Côtes de Bourg and the south of Entre-deux-mers bring elegance and freshness to the Cabernet grapes.
  • 2015 Vintage
    2015 Vintage The winter of 2015 was cool and dry, followed by a warmer spring with little rainfall. Very mild weather in May brought on the vines quickly and flowering took place in the best possible conditions in early June. Ideal summer weather combined with appropriate action in the vineyard and the expertise of Baron Philippe de Rothschild's winemakers ensured a very good vintage. The red wines show full-fruited Merlots, true to the Bordeaux tradition, and highly refined and very expressive Cabernets.

    Vinification Baron Philippe de Rothschild's winemakers monitor the selected parcels throughout the vegetation cycle, advising the growers on vineyard practices in order to meet the exacting quality standards of Mouton Cadet Réserve.

    Varietal Mix Merlot: 90% Red fruit flavours. Cabernet Sauvignon: 6% Structure, power and black fruit notes. Cabernet Franc: 4% Refinement and elegance.

    Colour A glittering, deep garnet red with an amaranth hue.
  • Nose
    Nose The nose reveals subtle aromas of very ripe red fruit (Burlat cherry and wild strawberry) and black fruit (bilberry and blackberry). Refined spice and mocha notes emerge with airing.
  • Palate
    Palate The attack is soft and full on attractive fruit, while the powerful and subtle mid-palate shows refined tannins and toasted notes, leading into an expressive finish on mild spice and black fruit, bringing the wine to a strong yet subtle close. 14% ABV
